According to a Statistics Canada report released on Tuesday, September 25, 2015, Senior Citizens outnumbered children for the first time across Canada. By July 1, 2024, seniors will account for one-fifth (20.1 per cent) of the Canadian population, compared with 16.3 per cent who will be children 14 and younger, according to Statscan’s projections.
